Kaelyn Long
Head Coach, Head of Curriculum
Bio
Kaelyn Long joins CT Elite Field Hockey as our newest Coach and Head of Curriculum.
A native of Hanover, Pa., she spent the past two years as the Harvard assistant coach where she was mentored by Tjerk van Herwaarden, one of the very best technical and tactical skills field hockey coaches. Long helped Harvard become the top defensive unit in the Ivy League in terms of goals allowed (18 goals, 0.99/per game) in 2022.
Long was a First Team All-MAC defender with Ohio in 2021.
She earned her undergraduate degree in early childhood education at Bucknell, and her graduate degree in Reading Education at Ohio University.
While at Bucknell, she was a four-year starter on the Bison field hockey team where Long was an NFHCA Third Team All-American, a two-time All-Patriot League Team selection and a two-time Academic All-Patriot League selection.
Long helped lead Bucknell to its first ever Patriot League title in 2021, scoring the game-winning goal against Boston University in the league title game last spring.
